About the Role

Opportunity in an Independent Law firm.

This firm is looking for a driven Senior Associate to join its renowned Corporate Tax team. The team consists of experienced solicitors, chartered accountants, and tax advisors who are experts in delivering precise and insightful guidance on UK and Scottish tax regulations.

The role will focus on advising clients on tax implications related to a range of corporate, commercial, and property transactions. The team’s expertise covers company acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, complex property transactions, and structuring of investment funds. They also design tax-efficient employee share incentive schemes and optimise tax strategies for restructuring and insolvency matters. Additionally, the team offers specialised consultancy to accountancy and legal firms, particularly on property tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic tax advice on corporate structuring and draft relevant tax documentation for transactions.
  • Advise on SDLT/LBTT, VAT, capital allowances, and tax planning for property transactions.
  • Assist business owners with vendor tax planning, investment structuring, and reorganising business entities.
  • Counsel on devolved tax matters and the creation of employee share incentives, including those tied to corporate deals.
  • Advise on structuring investment funds and executive compensation plans.
  • Present tax updates through internal and external seminars, webinars, and client presentations.
  • Work with partners on business development activities and team strategy implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm's information security standards.

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a comparable role.
  • Legal or ATT/CTA qualifications.
  • Strong interest in tax, coupled with a commercial, practical approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and keeping up with tax law changes.
