About the Role

Opportunity in a Leading US Law firm.

This firm seeks a Tax Accountant whose primary responsibilities include acting as a tax expert, preparing income tax return schedules, ensuring tax compliance, conducting tax research, and implementing tax procedures.

This individual will work closely with both local and global accounting teams, analysing financial and accounting data to support the firm's tax compliance obligations across EMEA. The position is based in the London office and may offer a flexible work arrangement that includes a hybrid of in-office and remote work.

Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Assisting in the preparation and provision of necessary information to external tax advisors for EMEA tax filings.
  • Reviewing relevant accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial documents while conducting quality assurance processes.
  • Supporting general tax administration, including tracking tax payments and notices, and preparing reconciliations.
  • Aiding in the preparation of cash flow and income tax estimates for partners.
  • Collaborating with the Tax Supervisor, Manager, and Director to identify and execute projects on various tax-related issues as they arise.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and have proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities. The role is well-suited for individuals eager to advance their careers in an environment that fosters learning and professional development. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with progress towards a professional accounting designation preferred. Experience in accounting within a law firm or professional services is advantageous. Strong Excel skills and the ability to manage and reconcile large datasets are essential.
