About the Role

Opportunity in a Tier A firm.

This firm is seeking an experienced leader to manage the Private Client Tax team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax advisory and compliance services.

The role encompasses strategic planning, budget management, and the cultivation of robust relationships with both existing and prospective clients. The successful candidate will identify and capitalise on opportunities to enhance client service and expand the firm's portfolio.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with other service lines within the Poole office to effectively market and secure high-net-worth individuals and large privately-owned businesses. The role demands active participation in business development initiatives, including attending regional events such as those hosted by the Dorset Chamber, delivering presentations, contributing to internal and external events and webinars, and producing thought leadership content. The candidate will also oversee the efficient onboarding of new clients as assignments are secured.

The role requires building and maintaining relationships with intermediaries and a referral network to attract new business. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for managing tax risks within the private client portfolio and ensuring compliance with all necessary quality and risk management procedures across the South Coast. The role also involves supporting the national private client tax teams on complex issues, monitoring legislative changes, and leading the learning and development initiatives within the Poole tax team. This includes mentoring, training, and delegating tasks while ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Holds a relevant professional qualification, such as CTA or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to influence and impact others positively.
  • Extensive technical tax knowledge and expertise.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to develop innovative ideas and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financials for clients and adjusting advisory approaches based on budgetary constraints.
  • Proficiency in business development within tax services and across other service lines.
  • Experience with personal tax on CCH Central is advantageous.
