About the Role

Opportunity in a PE-backed, Global Consulting firm.

This firm seeks a Manager,  where you'll play a crucial role in influencing high-profile and complex transactions.

The team specialises in delivering tax advice for businesses undergoing financial distress, with a strong track record in executing some of Europe's most significant restructuring processes. These processes include debt restructurings, debt-for-equity swaps, business reconstructions via Restructuring Plans, Schemes of Arrangement, CVAs, and insolvency appointments.

They are looking to expand their capabilities by hiring a corporation tax specialist at the Manager or Associate Director level. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that offers a mix of advisory work with some compliance responsibilities, providing a role that is both technically challenging and personally rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Advisory Work: Work closely with financial advisory colleagues and external stakeholders, including lenders, borrowers, and legal advisors, to navigate the complex commercial and legal demands of each restructuring project.

  • Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement strategies to achieve the commercial objectives of the transactions in a tax-efficient manner.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports outlining the necessary steps to achieve transaction goals.

  • Insolvency Tax Advisory: Advise insolvency practitioners on the tax implications of their actions during the restructuring process.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Guide the submission of tax returns and other necessary documentation to tax authorities, managing communications with them as required.

  • Business Development: Support the team's business development efforts, with opportunities to build and strengthen relationships both internally and with key clients.

  • Team Development: Contribute to the technical training and personal development of the broader team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional Credentials: ACA/CTA qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong UK tax technical skills are essential.

  • Core Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities, with the capacity to perform well under pressure.

  • Preferred Experience: Previous experience in transactions or insolvency processes is advantageous but not mandatory.
