Opportunity in a Top 30 firm.

This firm seeks an experienced tax professional to manage a diverse portfolio of business tax clients, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for further support. This role is integral to the Corporate Tax team, offering a blend of compliance and advisory services to owner-managed companies and large international groups across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of business tax clients, ensuring compliance with deadlines, building client relationships, and identifying areas for additional support.
  • Provide training and management for the business tax team.
  • Advise corporates on business and tax matters, including succession planning, remuneration planning, and capital expenditure timing.
  • Possess a broad understanding of other tax areas impacting entrepreneurs, such as Business Asset Disposal Relief and Business Property Relief.
  • Support entrepreneurial businesses in leveraging IP, restructuring, determining optimal business structures, incentivizing staff, and expanding internationally.
  • Advise on tax aspects of equity incentivisation, such as the EMI option scheme.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of other tax areas handled by specialist teams, such as VAT and R&D.
  • Engage in networking, proposals, and expanding the corporate tax portfolio.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities, risk mitigation strategies, and cross-selling opportunities to provide proactive and effective service.
  • Mentor and train junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
  • Ensure adherence to the firm’s technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience managing corporate clients and compliance processes at a managerial or senior managerial level.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) and/or CIOT qualified tax adviser with at least one year of post-qualification experience in a tax-related role.
  • In-depth corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of tax issues affecting corporates and their shareholders.
  • Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competency in interpreting financial information.
  • Willingness to travel between UK offices and client premises as required.

The ideal candidate will work autonomously with support from tax partners and directors, focusing on relationship management and contributing to effective team collaboration. Adapting to technological developments and participating in internal initiatives to drive positive change will also be essential.
