About the Role
Opportunity in a Big 4 firm.
This firm is seeking an experienced Manager to join its dynamic team. This team is a diverse and rapidly expanding group that manages high-profile, time-sensitive, and compliance-driven services for multinational companies with globally mobile workforces, including assignees, business travellers, and other agile workers.
The team excels in capturing and analysing compensation data from various sources to deliver effective compensation management, ensuring our clients achieve full policy and tax compliance. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our global payroll solutions, mitigating risks associated with our clients' mobile workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse compensation data to ensure tax and social security compliance.
- Provide support for expatriate payroll management, leveraging advanced technology solutions.
- Manage the delivery of UK expatriate payroll, including specialised schemes such as Appx 6, NI Only, Appx 8, and Appx 5 FTC.
- Conduct payroll data validations and variance analysis to identify high-risk areas for clients.
- Monitor adherence to internal global mobility policies.
- Prepare total cost reports and advise clients on potential cost-saving strategies.
Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- A client-focused approach with experience managing complex datasets, ideally related to compensation data for mobile employees, or a willingness to learn.
- Understanding of UK payroll compliance, including RTI, Apprenticeship Levy, Employment Allowance, EPS, and FPS requirements.
- Basic knowledge of expatriate tax, including reliefs such as Temporary Workplace Relief, Overseas Workdays Relief, Home Leave, relocation, and bonus sourcing.
- Experience managing multiple and large client payroll processes.
- Ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Proactive in identifying issues and finding effective solutions.
- Team-oriented, with strong rapport-building skills with clients and colleagues.
- A commitment to continuous learning and technical knowledge development.
- Previous experience in global compensation/expatriate management and managing junior team members.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior staff members.
Responsibilities as a Manager
As a Manager in this team, you will play a critical role in all aspects of the team's operations, with a focus on assignee compensation throughout the mobility lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering high levels of client service.
- Leading successful client projects with a focus on technical excellence.
- Managing the end-to-end monthly MoCoPay payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Coordinating with overseas colleagues to complete multi-disciplinary deliverables.
- Utilising data analytics to provide insights for clients' mobility program decisions.
- Leading client retention efforts, securing new business, and contributing to marketing initiatives.
- Creating innovative technology solutions that keep the team at the market's forefront.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Ensuring accurate Year-End reporting and necessary reconciliations.
- Upholding firm Quality Risk Management procedures and file management standards.
- Serving as a technology expert to support report and document preparation.
- Escalating risk areas or scope opportunities to senior management as needed.
- Meeting agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Providing coaching and mentoring to junior team members to foster their growth and development.
