About the Role

Opportunity in a Top 20 firm.

This firm is seeking a qualified professional to manage and execute the production of corporate tax returns and computations for a diverse client portfolio, while also supporting various tax advisory initiatives. The role involves overseeing the entire corporation tax compliance cycle, ensuring timely filings, and managing payment deadlines.

Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with audit teams to facilitate accurate tax provisions and disclosures for statutory accounts, where relevant. Proficiency in using tax software for the preparation and finalisation of corporate tax returns is essential, with training provided for Alphatax software. The position also includes regular communication with clients regarding their tax affairs, addressing HMRC inquiries, and managing general interactions with tax authorities on behalf of clients. The successful candidate will also be responsible for billing clients for both compliance and advisory services, offering coaching to junior staff, identifying tax planning opportunities, and contributing to both internal and external training presentations, as well as marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the corporation tax compliance cycle, filings, and payment schedules.
  • Collaborate with audit processes to ensure accurate tax provisions and disclosures in statutory accounts.
  • Finalise corporate tax returns using tax software.
  • Provide advisory services and liaise with clients on their tax matters.
  • Handle HMRC inquiries and manage client interactions with tax authorities.
  • Ensure timely client billing for tax services.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and support marketing activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ACA or ACCA fully qualified, with at least 3 years of auditing experience.
  • Expertise in tax software, Sage, Excel, Word, and ideally CaseWare.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in team-building and working under pressure.
