Opportunity in a Top 20 firm.

This firm seeks a Senior VAT Manager to join its practice.  The position involves close collaboration with the London VAT Partner and other VAT team members, focusing on delivering high-caliber technical advice to a diverse client base. Responsibilities include managing the scoping, delivery, and billing of client engagements while adhering to the firm's risk management protocols.

A key aspect of this role is the guidance and mentorship of junior staff, ensuring that their work aligns with the firm’s standards of quality. You will provide well-supported technical advice on various Indirect Tax issues, grounded in a thorough understanding of legislation and case law. In addition to advisory work, the role includes offering specialist technical support during audits.

Technical proficiency is essential, as you will be expected to deliver work requiring minimal oversight and communicate complex information clearly to both clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients as the primary contact for Indirect Tax matters and develop this portfolio by fostering new relationships and generating new work.
  • Use business development expertise to expand the firm’s client base and contribute to new proposals and tax-wide projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm and the Indirect Tax leadership team to offer input on management, strategy, and project focus.

Qualifications

  • Extensive VAT advisory experience, ideally with a focus on Real Estate VAT.
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • CTA or legal qualification required.
