About the Role
Opportunity in a Top 100 firm.
We are seeking an experienced and committed Senior Manager to join the expanding corporation tax team within this firm. The selected candidate will be tasked with managing complex clients across various industries, overseeing corporate tax compliance, and guiding the daily operations of the tax team. Reporting directly to the Corporation Tax Director, the role will involve delivering key metrics on performance, deliverables, and budgets, while also providing updates on the processes and policies applied to scoping, quoting, and de-risking the tax compliance workflow for audit clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scoping and preparing quotes for engagements
- Reviewing tax computations, returns, and notes
- Advising on all tax compliance matters including payments, capital allowances, group relief, and deductions
- Managing and supervising corporate tax compliance for audit clients
- Mentoring junior team members to ensure they develop the necessary skills to assist in this role
- Implementing procedures to meet deadlines and filing requirements
- Collaborating with the audit team to manage timelines and ensure tax compliance fits within the audit process
- Identifying advisory opportunities arising from client portfolios
- Working with the transactions team to ensure proper tax disclosures are made
- Driving continuous process improvement within the firm
- Ensuring the team is aware of legislative changes impacting clients and coordinating marketing campaigns to provide additional advice
- Managing team budgets and collaborating with the Tax Dispute Resolution team on HMRC inquiries
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- CTA qualified (preferred), or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proven experience in managing projects and staff
- Familiarity with tax software such as CCH, Alpha Tax, and cloud accounting tools
- Ability to manage diverse client portfolios across multiple sectors, including international groups
- Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- Competence in preparing precise tax computations and conducting thorough financial analyses
- Experience in developing audit processes that ensure accurate record-keeping and access to internal data
