About the Role

Opportunity in a Big 4 firm.

This firm seeks a Senior Tax Manager to join its dynamic team. The team provides comprehensive tax advisory services to a diverse portfolio of international high-net-worth individuals based in the UK, alongside family offices, private equity and hedge fund principals, and prominent professional partnerships.

Our mission is to serve as trusted advisors, delivering a broad spectrum of tax services. These include compliance with tax return obligations, guidance on residence and domicile matters, transactional and reorganisation advice, tax optimisation for wealth, and estate and succession planning. Given the international nature of our client base, experience with non-domiciled individuals is imperative.

The role encompasses both compliance and advisory responsibilities, working closely with Directors and team members to evaluate complex scenarios, offer informed advice, and formulate technical opinions. This position also presents opportunities for secondments within other divisions of the firm, with clear pathways for career advancement to Director level and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients with complex US and/or UK tax matters, ensuring top-tier service in both compliance and advisory capacities.
  • Lead and mentor allocated staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Oversee billing processes, ensuring deadlines and financial targets are met.
  • Conduct detailed and accurate final reviews of tax work, minimising risk and maintaining high standards.
  • Ensure exceptional client service, including timely completion of all required tasks.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the firm’s core values, maintaining confidentiality and working flexibly within the team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified ATT member, with US tax qualifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA; CTA is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax practice, with proven expertise in client service, tax compliance, and staff management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and independently.
  • Proficient in financial data interpretation and IT systems, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

This role requires a collaborative approach, with the ability to influence and manage client relationships effectively.
