The role requires assisting businesses with complex tax matters and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and provide additional support to client organisations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • US Enrolled Agent (EA) and ATT qualifications are essential.
  • Broad experience in both US and UK private client advisory, particularly with ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families and family offices.
  • Significant experience advising on trust and estate matters, specifically working with trustees and wealth advisory teams on tax considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects on US and foreign trust issues for settlors and beneficiaries.
  • Motivation to develop and lead a specialist trust and estate group within the US/UK Private Client practice.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong advisory experience, ideally developed within high-net-worth (HNW) client teams.
  • Proven capability in building and maintaining client relationships with a proactive advisory approach and an adaptable communication style suited to a diverse and demanding client base.
  • Market reputation and experience working closely with legal, wealth advisory, and other professionals serving UHNW individuals with US interests.
  • Extensive experience in dual US/UK succession planning for families, including expertise in trust advisory, alternate structuring, and estate planning.
  • Proficient knowledge of the UK/US tax treaty, with experience applying this in advisory scenarios.
  • Advanced understanding of complex foreign tax credit scenarios and associated planning strategies.
  • Strong understanding of pre-US and pre-UK residency tax planning considerations.
  • Experience presenting on US Private Client Services (PCS) tax topics to both internal and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to form collaborative relationships across teams for multifaceted project engagements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, with a passion for training and developing junior team members in US advisory skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Signing off tax forms, including 1040, 1040NR, 3520, among others.
  • Taking a leading role in managing client relationships with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Advising clients on complex US/UK succession planning, including trust structuring and estate considerations.
  • Applying in-depth knowledge of the UK/US tax treaty and advising on complex foreign tax credit matters.
  • Presenting to stakeholders on key US PCS tax topics.
  • Fostering collaboration with other teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
  • Actively contributing to the continual enhancement of team efficiencies and the strategic evolution of the US PCS service offering in alignment with the firm's broader objectives.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to practical problem-solving, effective collaboration, and a resilient approach to challenging work, alongside strong people management skills and a desire for ongoing professional growth.
