Opportunity in a Leading firm.

This firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Transaction Tax Specialist to lead a diverse portfolio of tax due diligence and structuring assignments, encompassing both buy-side and sell-side engagements. The role involves collaboration with various specialists across the firm, including those in VAT, Employment Taxes, and the Transaction Services team, to deliver integrated tax advisory services.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in transaction tax, coupled with commercial acumen and the ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively to multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a variety of tax due diligence and structuring projects, closely coordinating with tax specialists and the transaction support team to provide comprehensive advisory solutions.
  • Conduct thorough client onboarding and engagement procedures, proactively managing risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by promptly responding to client needs, keeping clients informed of project progress, and ensuring clear, consistent communication with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide input into legal documentation and financial forecasting models to ensure tax considerations are accurately integrated into transaction structures.
  • Demonstrate and apply an in-depth, current knowledge of tax legislation, with the ability to address and resolve complex tax issues that arise in transactions.
  • Oversee project and staff management responsibilities, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, and mentorship of junior team members.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in transaction tax, including leadership of tax due diligence and structuring engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of client onboarding processes and engagement protocols, with proven experience managing project-related risks.
  • Established expertise in client relationship management, with a track record of meeting and anticipating client needs while maintaining regular communication.
  • Ability to contribute to legal and financial documents, with expertise in integrating tax perspectives into transaction models.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge in tax, with specialised skills to address complex transaction-related tax issues.
  • Relevant professional qualification(s), such as a degree in a related field, CTA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and team leadership within a transaction tax environment.
