About the Role

Opportunity in a Leading firm.

The ideal candidate will operate largely autonomously, with necessary support and oversight provided by the office’s tax partners and directors. Relationship management is critical, requiring effective team collaboration, direct client coordination, and the ability to coach, manage, mentor, and appraise junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and potentially review UK corporation tax computations.
  • Monitor reporting and payment deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with the audit and accounts teams to provide advice on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
  • Present corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
  • Depending on experience, coordinate and review other business tax-related returns (e.g., ATED, ERS, EMI, P11Ds, etc.).
  • Monitor and manage financial performance in accordance with KPIs.
  • Handle all related correspondence with clients and HMRC.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation, and cross-selling between service lines to ensure clients receive proactive and effective service.
  • Assist with other ad hoc projects and duties as reasonably required.
  • Adhere to the firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures in all instances.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient technical and practical knowledge of corporate tax.
  • Good understanding of tax issues affecting OMBs and their shareholders.
  • Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes is preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competence in interpreting accounts and other financial information.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases; familiarity with Alphatax is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
