About the Role

Opportunity in a National Practice.

This firm seeks a seasoned professional to oversee a portfolio of Tax Dispute cases, handling all phases from client onboarding to settlement. The role demands reporting to the Director for each assignment and independently managing complex tax disclosure cases. . Responsibilities encompass drafting comprehensive letters and reports to HMRC, incorporating all necessary computational elements with minimal oversight. The position also involves negotiating with HMRC and participating in Alternative Dispute Resolution settlement meetings.

Key duties include maintaining client relationships, providing accurate quotes, and ensuring timely information delivery. The candidate will control Work in Progress on assigned cases, manage billing and debt collection, and effectively delegate tasks to junior staff. Additional responsibilities include creating technical material, contributing to marketing efforts, and delivering presentations and training courses. Building strong working relationships with both internal and external colleagues is essential, as is staying current with relevant technical developments and the broader economic environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Former HM Inspector of Taxes; ACA and/or CTA; or legal professional with pertinent experience.
  • Experience within a Tax Dispute Resolution team or HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Proven expertise in tax dispute resolution and interactions with senior HMRC investigators and management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt skills to new scenarios.
  • Commitment to personal development and contributing to organizational growth.
